Calling all bookaholics...

LE BOOK

Monday 7 July 2003, by Patricia

Are you a bookaholic? Is the first question you ask your visitors "What books have you brought" rather than "How are you?" If so...

LE BOOK is the answer to the English-speaking bookaholic’s continual search for something new to read. It’s a just-for-fun bring-and/or-buy book sale which, since June of last year, has been taking place in Gabian on thelast Sunday of the month.

But it’s not just for the Brits: any student or amateur of the English language in quest of reading material is warmly welcomed. Parents with kids who are learning English have been known to pounce on suitable reading matter.

If you just want to come and browse, that’s fine. If you have surplus books you want to sell, this is the place to do it. If you simply fancy a cup of coffee with like-minded people, come and join us.

Here are the details:

THE PLACE: café-bar l’Escale, Gabian. This is in the middle of Gabian on the D13 - the main road from Roujan to Faugères - on the left-hand side as you come from Roujan.

THE DATE: usually the last Sunday of each month but March 21 is an exception!

THE TIME: set-up from 10:15 a.m.
doors open 11 a.m.

THE COST: entrance is free to all buyers. For sellers there is a nominal fee to cover our expenses of 2€ for a table (tables supplied)

LE BOOK goes from strength to strength and, for the first time, the September event saw all the tables taken. Make sure to book your table in plenty of time if you don’t want to be disappointed.
